A Wood Stove Grows Friendship

14 April 2011 14:39

I have been wondering why a wood stove is such a popular item to own. When I was a wood stove virgin I couldn't understand why the enthusiasm over having a fire, after all I had been living with central heating and thought that my gas fire was fine. But since being introduced to wood stoves I can emphatically say that I wouldn't be without one.

It's been 3 years since my Woodwarm wood stove became part of our family. And I talk about it affectionately because the fire really has become our friend. There is nothing more welcoming and relaxing than the warmth and beauty of a wood stove. I had an open fire many years ago, but it never produced the same kind of heat that my woodburner does, and I was always worried about burning embers in case the rug caught fire!

A wood stove creates a certain ambience. A cup of tea, a glass of wine, and the warmth of the wood stove, what could be better? It also allows for comfortable moments of silence when you're sitting with a friend because the flames are so beautiful to watch. There is almost something magical about sharing the experience!

With the wood stove roaring I have laughed and cried, shared hopes and dreams, and hugged those that needed hugging. If our Woodwarm could speak it would tell such tales, and paint pictures of a family life with its highs and lows.

I love the summer, and now that the warmer weather is approaching I am pleased. But there is also a little tinge of sadness that my fire won't be going again until September.

So if you would like to find a place to grow friendships with your friends and family, why not install a wood stove? It's a decision that I know that you won't regret.

PS We have a wonderful range of wood stoves here at Bradley Stoves so why not treat yourself?
