Wood Stoves Make Winter a Treat & Saves on Fuel Biils!

Woodwarm Fireview wood stoveWood burning stoves are a welcome addition to any home. Even though the nights are getting lighter (well marginally!), I am still happy in the evenings with my fire roaring, my underfloor heating warming my home, and a glass of wine in my hand. Sometimes I just sit at the end of the day and watch the flames leaping and twirling in my wood burner, and relax and sort out the thoughts from the day.

Since having a Woodwarm wood stove, my life has been quite different! I live in a 1960's home that lacked character when I moved in. I wanted something to make a feature of the lounge and so decided to build a chimney breast and put in a wood burner. I also removed the flooring and put in engineered oak floors throughout downstairs, with a water-fed under floor heating system underneath.

Not only has the wood stove transformed the lounge aesthetically, but my fuel bills have been cut by two-thirds! The Woodwarm Fireview woodburner has a back boiler that means our main living room remains warm, but the rest of the downstairs is heated by our underfloor heating. This means that the floor is usually slightly warm underfoot, and the rest of the room feels wonderfully warm. It also means that I could get rid of all our radiators, which limit the arrangement of rooms, so we are left with a much more open feel in the house. Having lived in Canada I wanted to have underfloor heating, but didn't want the hot air system, and couldn't face the expense of electrical underfloor heating. The Woodwarm woodburner has been superb at combining efficiency with aesthetics, and I would recommend this wood stove to anyone. I wouldn't say that the Woodwarm Fireview was the prettiest wood stove out there (looking at the range here at woodburners.co.uk I can see that there are some more modern looking woodburners!), but this British made stove is fantastically efficient, and looks good, especially as it has an Airwash system, which keeps the window sclean, so that you can see the flame pattern clearly.

So if you are wondering how to cut the cost of your fuels, why not think about putting in a wood burning stove with a boiler, and make the most of all the heat that the fire generates? Click here to see our Woodwarm range, and buy in confidence from woodburners.co.uk.
